For a nicer evening out and great dinner, this is a beloved spot for good reason. There are three restaurants on the same block including Jeffreys ($$$$) and Galaxy Cafe ($$) and Zocalo ($$)

Another high end restaurant but worth the price. Great outdoor area as well. Next door is the comprable Josie Cafe, another Austin gem.

Surrounding Town Lake is a 13 mile trail filled with spectacular views of the city. But the funnest part will be all the people watching you'll do as you hike. The map shows this being far east but you can pick it up 15 minutes from my place and take it around the entire city.

An iconic must see on your Austin trip. Barton Springs is a 65 degree year round pool visited by all. Grab one of my beach towels and head over for a swim and tanning on the surrounding grass.

Austin just built this library and I recently visited for the first time. It is incredible and worth visiting. Especially the 6th floor to see the outdoor garden and views of the city.

If you want the Austin nightlife, I suggest east Austin. Go to White Horse for a great outdoor area and dancing inside. If you don't like it, there dozens of other bars close by like Hotel Vegas, Shangri-La, or Yellowjacket.
