The infamous Freetown Christiania is a must visit if you are interested in seeing an alternative neighbourhood. Due to a recent shooting event the pusher street is indefinitely closed which means that you will not be able to see the iconic stalls of drug dealers selling Mary J. However the neighbourhood itself is definitely worth a visit with many interesting architectures and graffiti. The lake behind Christiana is also a good place for a walk. Although the pusher street is shut down, many people still come to Christiania to light a joint. You will definitely be able to smell weed there and if you are interested, get your hands on some to try yourself as well.

It was originally created to provide cheap and healthy homes for the poorest part of the city's work force originated among local politicians and medical doctors during the 1853 Copenhagen cholera outbreak which killed approximately 5,000 citizens.
Nowadays, it is an exclusive neighbourhood in the heart of Østerbro with quet little streets and beautiful houses. A walk in Brumleby will bring you back in time to the old, traditional Copenhagen lifestyle.
