Prospect Park! It's only a 5 minute walk to Brooklyn's famous park. It's the equivalent of Manhattan's Central Park, but much more natural (and designed by the same people). A wonderful place and a must to take a walk or jog or lounge on the grass.

Only open in the summers. Ferry ride is $2 round-trip from Pier 6. Rent bicycles, dine at food trucks, etc. Old army barracks have been converted into art exhibits.
