If you want to get really local, this is pretty much it. This is where Cambridge used to get its sewage treated. Steam-powered energy for Cambridge also started here. Although the machinery isn't used anymore for these purposes, they are still functional. This place is open only on Sundays from March to October.

38-39 St Andrew's StThe only nightclub in Cambridge that doesn't charge you upon entry. You'll meet people from all walks of life (mostly young college students) but don't expect great music here. You can also have a decent lunch here.
Ballare is a nightclub that caters mostly to university students and you have to pay on entry. You'll have more fun if you go with a group of friends instead of on your own. The music here is better than at Regal (Wetherspoons).

At the Boathouse, there is a list of main courses costing 11 pounds for two dishes. This menu works every day except Sundays. Thus, this is a convenient place to eat if your group is even numbered. It also has special deals for children and senior citizens. There is also a live band that performs jazz on certain evenings.

As I am ethnically Chinese (my Dad is from Hong Kong), I had to find a good place that serves authentic Chinese food and this place is it! Fried rice, noodles and bubble tea - trust me, even if you haven't had Asian food before you will love this place. As it is opposite St. John's College you'll also have a lovely view while eating.
