Shopping
It's huge and there's always a special something taking place on the square between the two main buildings. I recommend this mostly because I think that out of all the malls in Berlin this one is the calmest and cleanest with many good shops and it doesn't give you a headache :)

12 Leipziger Pl.It's huge and there's always a special something taking place on the square between the two main buildings. I recommend this mostly because I think that out of all the malls in Berlin this one is the calmest and cleanest with many good shops and it doesn't give you a headache :)

This is a good place to try traditional Germany food or have a big breakfast/brunch. It is inside Bethanien - once a hospital now a space for art galleries.

If the weather is good you HAVE TO got there. It's my favorite bar/cafe in all of Berlin.
You take the elevator of the shopping mall up to the second highest floor, walk through the car park and up a slope and enter a completely different world: Up on the rooftop is a huge garden with string lights and a spectacular view, especially at sunset: You can see all of Berlin covered in warm yellow and pink.
It is great for every type of visitor: There are cosy corners for lovebirds, open spaces and big tables for groups and families and at night there's nice electronic music.
After 4pm they usually charge around 3-4 € entrance fee.

Warning: This is not chic and lovely - it is shabby and smoky and it's right above the notorious Kottbusser Tor. But it has a very original "Kreuzberg-Vibe", the drinks are extremely cheap and the mood is usually very good and so is there odd selection of music, from trash to electro and traditional Turkish songs. I really love it there - especially on summer nights, when you can sit outside on the terrace/ balcony and watch whatever is going on down on the streets.
If you want to find it: It's up the stairs next to the flower shop.

This is one of my favorite gay bars/clubs - of course heterosexuals are also very welcome there :) . It plays mostly mainstream and 90s/2000s classics and the dance floor is never empty. I prefer going there after 2/3 am because it is less crowded then. Entrance is usually free.
