Sightseeing
On a sunny day this walk is absolutely stunning. It is a 10 minutes drive over the hill to Taylors or a 45 minutes walk. The track can be as long or short as you like. Taylors is another great swimming and surfing beach.

You can walk here along the Taylor Mistake walkway or you can drive. To drive you head up Evans Pass road at the back of Sumner and turn left at the top. Follow the road to the end. 15 minute drive. Great views over Lyttelton Harbours and up the coast to Kaikoura. there are many short or long walks in the area.

You can walk here along the Taylor Mistake walkway or you can drive. To drive you head up Evans Pass road at the back of Sumner and turn left at the top. Follow the road to the end. 15 minute drive. Everyone who visits Sumner has to climb Cave Rock. This is THE landmark of Sumner. Great views. Geration of kids have played on and around Cave Rock

The views from the summit roads of Banks Peninsula are stunning. Stroll on the iconic hillsides or drop down into a peaceful and secluded bay of your choice. Take a picnic or stop at Little River or Akaroa. Meander and you will find your own secret spot. The peninsula is a brilliant day trip from Christchurch.
I am very fond of the Peninsula and I am sure that you will enjoy this special area.

Catch the purple line bus to and from Sumner. This runs regularly from the airport via the city exchange to Sumner. There is a bus stop 50 meters from the end of the driveway.
