A guy built a castle on his property in the mountains. You can tour it for free. I like to take 1-25 South to get there, then the "back" way through the mountains to get home. Gorgeous drive!

It's approximately 2 hours from the Springs, but a great hot spring to check out. Call first to make sure the river is open-because IMHO this is the best part. You can sit in the river and little spots are carved out in the side where the hot springs come up.
