Access it by climbing the famous 199 steps (officially called Church Stairs), board the open top tourist bus and get off at Whitby Abbey stop, drive or taxi to Whitby Abbey and walk through churchyard. It was built in 1110 AD. and it has been prayed in for over 1000 years. Bell ringing. Unusual 3 decker pulpit, ear trumpets, William Scoresby chair and other exhibits.
