Food Scene

Great Libanese/Japanese fusion restaurant, loved by the foodies and a true local spot. All this just two steps from the appartment! The owners are adorables and working hard to serve you local and quality lunches. You can also grab a cappucino and witness them cooking or their daughter sketching ;), they always have nice blends. Careful they are closed on the week end and catering special events only for dinner.

Best Vietnamese place! Waiters are always so nice and polite. Food is just fresh & delicious. Bo bun is to die for and it comes in two sizes, small 9 euros, big 12 euros Charming location, with shell lamps hanging from the ceiling. Plus, you can actually see them cooking if you sit at the bar. During summer they fully open the place onto the street.

Drinks & Nightlife

Our "go-to" neighboor bar. Psych rock music, fun bartenders, cheap pint of blond beers, which is literally called "Cheap blond". This place is the perfect mix of locals and foreigners. Be warned, it might get a bit fun/crazy on a week end night!

An institution.... Go there during the week ends around lunch times, grab oysters and a glass of Chardonnay. At night, come back for a glass of red, they're always pleased to advice you. Their selections is huge and range from 1,50 to 5 euros, you might get a bit overwhelmed You don't drink? It's fine, get a organic apple juice and mixe in with the locals! Enjoy the Art exhibitions on display, it changes every now and then. You can also bring home a bottle of wine directly from their barrels for a really good price, because heads up, they close at 10pm.

Parks & Nature

It's our Parisian High line. This old aerian train track got rehabilitated and you can take it all the way from Bastille to Bois de Vincenne. It offers a high up point of view on the 12th arrondissement, walking around the trees on a sunny day is a really pleasant thing to do, especially with kids. If you want to go for a morning jog, go early, it gets quite packed on the week end and slaloming in between people is never fun. Plus: Go up to Jardin de Reuilly to try the free sparkling water fountain on display!

Go there for a pique-nique, bring a blanket, read a book and sun tan! You can grab a coffee & a chocolate croissant to go at the Chocolaterie Cyril Lygnac across the entrance. Or even better a creamy hot chocolate! FYI : Avoid week ends and late afternoon if you want a relaxing time, or you'll get a lot of kids running around action. Which is also fun to witness sometimes, an entertainement in itself!

Essentials

The Aligre market happens everyday except Monday. Go there to get fresh veggies, flowers, spices... They also have an indoor market. Worth seeing it but kind of overpriced. Plus, on the week end they have a miscellanous/antique market on the Place Aligre, it's always fun to hunt for treasures.
