There are a huge number of new cool restaurants in the downtown area - so many one has to review them through Yelp. But my favorites are in Little Tokyo area

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Los Angeles. Fun to sit at the bar if one is alone, or book a table in advance if you are 2 or more. Excellent sushi and a great scene

This place is very upmarket if you want a whole chic restaurant experience. The space and decor are superb and service amazing. Classic American fare, expensive but a great experience

With amazing views of the ocean and a beautiful permanent collection of Greek artwork and sculptures, along with theatrical productions outside during the summer, this outdoor museum is quite unique and beautiful and a must see - there is also a lovely restaurant there that also overlooks the oceans

There are lots of unique boutiques and cafes on Montana avenue which is within 5 minutes drive of my apartment. You can walk the stores and choose from amongst many fabulous restaurants and bars on the street.

Its all down one street outdoors with no cars and a ton of stores. At the Broadway end of the street, there is the main shopping Mall with Nordstrom and Bloomingdales and other departments stores and restaurants. There is also a farmers market there on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9 - 1pm
