Off the beaten path, more a popular spot with the locals. A good mix of American and Hungarian foods. Large terrace near the Danube, good selection of local beer and wine. After your meal wander around the Roman ruins right across the road - the Aquincum Military Amphitheatre - quite an impressive site!

Great spot for a croissant and a cappuccino. Also fun to giggle at the oddly named Creppy side business - I haven't tried them but there is a full menu of crepes, sweet and savoury. Here's hoping they're not crappy. *giggle* *snort*

Further out, in district 2A, where nature still rules, lays a rustic, renovated farmhouse-turned-inn named after the owner's grandma. Her spirit lives on in the dishes served - home made, Hungarian comfort cuisine. Large, outdoor terrace complete with playground recommended when the weather is nice. But definitely take a peek inside.

This pedestrianized street between the two Mammut shopping centers is lined with cafés, quaint shops and restaurants. You can find a good variety of places to eat, or just have something to drink - or ice cream! There is a traditional Hungarian restaurant, Fish & Chips, Noodles, great coffee, a wine bar, little pubs, Indian right around the corner and much more. And it's mostly frequented by locals, so not too touristy.

Tour the grounds where the medicinal, herbal liquor Unicum is made. You'll never learn the secret recipe, but you'll learn of it's origins - then get to taste it straight out of the barrel (two types, original recipe and plum-flavored). Definitely off the beaten path.

Rózsakert medical center - contact them before you come for information and to see if your insurance is accepted here. This medical center caters mainly to expats, locals with private insurance and internationals working/living here short term. Service is excellent, doctors are all top of their fields. I can recommend a great pediatrician.
