It is a public park of 15,5 hectares (38 acres) in the center of Athens. Perfect for sunday walks or runs , reading under the trees when it is too hot to do anything else.

Beautiful park, ideal for hot days. People also go climbing there. You could enter from Dionisiou Areopagitou street and follow the paths to go to koukaki neighborhood or petralona to have a coffee or a drink.

"Makalo" restraunt is by far the best option for someone who wants to try good traditional and quality food, in normal prices, ideal for an average budget traveler.

Mythically famous with songs and poems written about it and eveytime I visit is like time traveling. Super traditional with "revithada" (chickpeas kind of soup) as a must try plate. Traditional, simple and you must go!!

Best souvlaki in town! Not an actual restaurant.. A very small place with a very big queue of hungry people, worth the waiiting though :) Open until early afternoon

Beautiful cafe very close to the house. Maybe a little more expensive because of the touristic area but is worth the visit. For coffee or beer, dessert and/or food. It is beautiful, check it out!

Maybe not for the faint at heart but is a place you definately should visit for a really local experience. (check out for the cafes and restaurants inside the fish and meat market)
