Arts & Culture

For aficionados of military history, this museum has much more than tanks and military vehicles. It also houses an incredible collection of authentic uniforms and hats from a broad range of historic periods. You'll also see some impressive art that has been donated to the museum. And, yes, there are the tanks: the largest collection of tanks in the Western Hemisphere.

Food Scene

Originally a local eatery that was a favorite of workers at nearby Dan River Mills, you'll still see some of the old-timers here, especially at breakfast. This is a real local-yokel gem with a traditional breakfast at reasonable prices. It hasn't changed much over the decades, and they still offer a real, old-fashioned breakfast.
