The museum sits on Place des Terreaux, our favorite place to grab a midday coffee or glass of wine. The museum is good, but the highlight is the fountained terrace outside. Perfect for peoplewatching!

The oldest part of the city, this neighborhood is perfect for meandering around in the afternoon. Treat yourself to a crepe and explore the "traboules" (passageways) and local toy and gift shops.

This museum has two parts: one for Lyon history and another about Guignol and the famous Lyonnais puppetry. We love the temporary exhibit about Lyon gastronomy. Visit here before eating at a bouchon!

Any traveler in Lyon MUST eat at a "bouchon" (a restaurant that serves traditional Lyon food). Most of the bouchons on Rue Mercière or Rue des Marronniers are good but Le Musée is one we love!

Shopping

Part Dieu is the closest train station to us - a 15 min. walk or 3-stop metro ride. Also the biggest indoor mall in Lyon, you can find anything you forgot (toothbrush? socks?) for your trip here.
