Levels of hiking trails very from easy to more difficult. Depending on the season, explosive waterfalls, wildlife, rafting on the Merced River, bicycling, ice skating etc.are all wonderful experiences. Hotels, cabins, picnic areas, shops, restaurants. A must see is the Ahwahnee Hotel built in 1925. It will take you back to the finest hospitality of that era. For a relaxing ride, catch a large tour bus at the Black Oak Casino Resort Hotel, less than a mile away.

Just one of the historic gold mine towns, Sonora is really picturesque. Art galleries, antique shops, creative stores and many restaurants within a wild west setting. Don't miss the beautiful "Red Church" at the top of the town with the "Red Mansion" across the street. Also the Sonora Historical museum off Bradford Street is very interesting. It's housed in the old jail. Farmers Market(includes flowers, food, crafts etc.) is very popular from May 14 through October 15 from 7:30-11:30am.
