Right on my doorstep, this nature reserve is a wonderful way of escaping from the city. Farm land nearby has horses and sheep. The nature reserve has a burn (stream) and a visitors' centre too.

Cramond Island is joined to the mainland by a causeway so you need to know the times of the tide in order to cross safely. Cramond beach has lot of shells to collect, a long promenade and cafes/pubs.
