At lunchtime it has a reduced menu (just few options but very good) and it's the favorite place of many people who work in the area for their lunch break. At dinner time has more varieties of food: traditional pasta, meat and fish.

It is a historic pizzeria since 1970 very close to the appartement for a cheap and tasty Pizza.

This is one of our favorite place for a cheap lunch or dinner but 100% traditional. You can find on the menu all the most famous tuscan recipes. Try the Ribollita soup and coniglio alla Cacciatora ( a special recipe for cooking the rabbit)

The best place for the florentine steak. We also love the home made cantuccini, florentine biscuits that they serve together with vin santo (sweet wine).

Best place in the city centre for Schiacciata, typical florentine flat bread. You can fill the schiacciata with different types of prosciutto, vegetables, cheeses and souces. Perfect for a quick lunch and also for a nice aperitivo con tagliare ( a wooden plate with cheeses and marmelades, ham, vegetables and so on and a glass of chianti wine).
My favorite schiacciata is with: prosciutto crudo, eggplants, sun-dried tomatoes and ricotta cheese

Nice bar close to Santa Croce Square with kitsch furniture, where you can hear live music in the week-end and even dance. It's a very very crowded place so it's better to arrive around 10 pm maximum to reserve a table. Wonderful cocktails.
Open just in winter time.

A very beautiful disco on Michelangelo Square, placed on the top of a hill from where you can see the entire city. The entrance is free but they have very stricht rules about the dress code.

Santo Spirito square is one of the most crowded place in florence during the week end. There are cocktails bar at any corner and italian people love to drink their beer or cocktail sitting on the stairs outside the church. Perfect place also for aperitivo.
