The biggest shopping centre (mall) in the Southern Hemisphere. If you enjoy shopping, this is the place to go. Restaurants are OK, but not as good as in the city.

The tourist strip, but also a hit with the locals for live music, bars, reasonably priced restaurants and late-night revelry. Be alert for pick-pockets and beggars though.

Lots of good restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. You can pick up groceries at the supermarket here too. Some quirky shops have also sprung up recently.

A world famous botanical gardens for the serious plant lover. The summer concerts on Sundays are well worth attending. Book early.

An 'easy" walk to the top will take you about an hour. Full moon hikes every month are highly recommended (although very busy). The paragliding trip starts about half way up and is highly recommended.

A nice sea-side town with interesting markets and good seafood. The drive up Chapman's Peak is one of the best in the world.

A cultural experience to understand the affect that Apartheid had on the people of Cape Town. The museum isn't the best in terms of layout etc but it gets the message across.

Take a peaceful stroll through the original Gardens of Jan van Riebeeck. The vegetables that fed the early inhabitants have been replaced by flowers and the SA National Museum is located here.
