Highest point on the entire Oregon Coast that is accessible by car. Just 3 miles from our house. Museum, marine mammal displays, a theater for watching short informative movies on the history here, whale watching, 23 miles of hiking trails, old growth forest and a historic stone shelter at the very top of a short trail. This is a must see with picture perfect views of the coastline. You can see 37 miles out to sea and 70 miles of coastline on a clear day! Take your camera!

2400 US-101Highest point on the entire Oregon Coast that is accessible by car. Just 3 miles from our house. On the 804 trail (which is accessible from our street) a few minutes walk north with beautiful ancient lava rock formations and spectacular waves. Caution is advised on rocks at all times and they are slippery. Better to stay on the bluff and grassy area to observe.

A short trail down to the beach is steep in some areas, but there are viewing areas along the trail. There is a nice picnic area near the parking lot.

Just 23 miles North - on the Bay Front you will find the Hatfield Marine Science Center, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Shops, Restaurants, Sea food Markets, Rogue Brewery (food and tours), Charter Boat Excursions for whale watching and fishing, Ripley's "Believe it or Not and Wax Museum", two lighthouses with tours, Very Loud Sea Lions on the docks below the Clearwater Restaurant (my favorite) and many other activities.
