Food Scene

Amazing food and excellent wine! From the outside La Cave (The Cellar) looks like a small wine shop, which it is! However, walk through the front shop, through the narrow corridor taking you past the open kitchen to the restaurant dining room an the non-smoking terrace (rare in France). The food is really amazing and the extremely knowledgable sommeliers will know exactly which bottle to match to your meal and your tastes. For a 3 course meal with drinks allow around €50 per person.

Our local! Great pub-style brasserie with excellent burgers, risottos etc. and very friendly owners and staff. They often have live jazz on Thursdays and Fridays. The burger des Tonneaux is always a good idea!

Great coffee does exist in France! Café Kaldi is run by an Ethiopean who roasts a a great selection of single origins and blends in the front room of the cafe. Super friendly and a great place to take a laptop and work for a few hours. Located in the small shopping centre at Croix de Chavaux, next to the fishmonger.

There's always something happening at this associative cafe. Small concerts, exhibitions, courses on everything, book launches etc. A great place to work with a laptop and also great with kids. Very cheap beer and coffee and food wise they do a single lunch option.

The smaller cousin of la Cave restaurant, the Petite Cave is an excellent wine shop. Speak to Thomas about what you like and he'll help you pick out the perfect bottle! At lunchtime you can sit down and have some excellent charcuterie and cheese with your bottle! They also sell some excellent, Montreuil brewed beers and great artisanal lemonades.
