Casa Mira is a super traditional bakery located near the Puerta del Sol. The shop, despite selling other confectionery products, is famous for the elaboration and sale of handmade nougat.

This restaurant is very very good for what it costs (with a glass or two of wine it is aprox. €35/person). Very high quality food. Must book in advance as it is nearly always full.

The old ancient capital located in the Tagus river is a must. Get away from the crowds and meander through quiet little streets, as good as any in Tuscany. El Greco came here in 1577 and didn't leave.
