Fiction is one of Cape Town's iconic clubs. They are known for throwing one hell of a party and always have amazing DJs. You may even be lucky enough to catch some big names who pop in and play an impromptu set, Skrillex being the most recent.

Considered the first find dining experience cocktail experience. You have to make a booking to get in to this 24 seater cocktail bar. No branded bottles adorn this bar. Spirits are made in-house, and the kind of alcohol used in each drink is omitted from the menu. The idea is to choose a drink based on flavours you enjoy, not a preconceived idea of what gin or whisky taste like. The menu is studded with local ingredients giving them unique South African flavours – not a universal palette of cocktails that could be replicated in London or Barcelona. My favourite is the Icy Hot.

This is a speak easy style Gin bar. To enter it, you walk through Honest Chocolate (an artisanal chocolate shop). At the back of the shop there is a beautiful stone courtyard where this secret gin bar is located. The cocktails are delicious!

This spot is a 2 minute drive from the house. It is a great steak restaurant, I have never had a bad meal there. It is especially nice in the winter months as it has a very cozy atmosphere.

This wine farm in the Hemel en Aarde wine valley near Hermanus is home to some of South Africa's best wines. Their Pinot Noir is to die for, as is their Chardonnay.
They are also home to, in my opinion, the best restaurant in South Africa. It's aptly called The Restaurant. The chef, Eric Bullpit, is a total food magician. His creations are as beautiful as they are delicious. This place is a MUST!

You can hike up Table Mountain or take the cabe car up. There are lots of trails to choose from and the hike is splendid!
