Designed by Olmsted and Vaux, who designed Central Park in Manhattan, this is Brooklyn's best park! Vast paved paths for walking, a 3.5 mile loop for bikes or pedestrians that is half shaded. If you like a running challenge, enter the park at the top and go counterclockwise (turn to the right), ending with one major hill at the end! Explore and see the pretty lakes, baseball diamonds, horse ring, bird and people watching! In summer the BRIC outdoor music festival takes place in the bandshell.

Prospect Heights

The most elegant and refined dining option in the neighborhood by a young chef pushing the envelope a bit. He worked at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Per Se, and Alinea. There is outdoor seating in back. In summer it's a lovely garden. In colder weather they serve hot cocoa out there with blankets.

A little bit farther away but still close, this is a Park Slope modern Korean restaurant with a focus on seafood. The food is FANTASTIC. They have the best warm oysters I have ever had, wood grilled with seaweed butter. Don't miss it!

My favorite cafe - make a right out of the house, walk 2 blocks and right at Flatbush you're there! Espresso drinks, matcha, tea, juices, baked goods and most days, breakfast tacos. No wifi. a few tiny tables inside and outside a couple benches. Get a punch card if you get drinks there and save for me! :)
