We love Gjusta. This is a day time bakery/cafe. FAntastic breads and deli items. Recently mentioned in LA weekly as one of top 10 places to visit in LA. We love their food and the rustic feel, it really is a unique place even though I find a lot of their staff members not very friendly. You can also try their sister restaurant Gjelina on Abbott Kinney if you want to have more of a sit down experience and slightly friendlier staff :)

Great place for dinner. Love the decor, cocktails, ambiance, and the flare of the food. The menu is Singaporean so has many different influences from many Asian countries. If we had a choice I will eat and drink here at least once a week.

Sightseeing

A cool calm and quiet place for a walk and look at the canal homes. The Venice Canal Historic District is a district in the Venice section of Los Angeles, California. The district is noteworthy for its man-made canals built in 1905 by developer Abbot Kinney as part of his Venice of America plan. Kinney sought to recreate the appearance and feel of Venice, Italy, in Southern California.

Getting Around

Breeze is a Fantastic new program we have in Santa Monica. There are many closer stations than the one I have mapped here, but the AirnBnB map did not have them. Go to the web and check out all the locations: http://www.smgov.net/Departments/PCD/Programs/Santa-Monica-Bike-Share/ The closest one to the house is #72 on the map and is Ocean Front Walk and Rose. You will see the bikes in the neighborhood they are Green and they will have Breeze word on them and Hulu ad.

Arts & Culture

It is a campus of the Getty Museum and other programs of the Getty Trust. The $1.3 billion Center opened to the public on December 16, 1997 and is well known for its architecture, gardens, and views overlooking Los Angeles. The Center sits atop a hill connected to a visitors' parking garage at the bottom of the hill by a three-car, cable-pulled hovertrain funicular. Located in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Center is one of two locations of the J. Paul Getty Museum and draws 1.3 million visitors annually. (The other location is the Getty Villa in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. which is closer to the house, and off the PCH - Hughway 1) The Center branch of the Museum features pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, and decorative arts; and 19th- and 20th-century American, Asian, and European photographs. In addition, the Museum’s collection at the Center includes outdoor sculpture displayed on terraces and in gardens and the large Central Garden designed by Robert Irwin. Among the artworks on display is the Vincent Van Gogh painting Irises. Designed by architect Richard Meier, the campus also houses the Getty Research Institute (GRI), the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, and the J. Paul Getty Trust. The Center's design included special provisions to address concerns regarding earthquakes and fires.
