Food scene

The oldest operating bar and business in all of Arizona, the atmospheric Palace Restaurant and Saloon lies on Whiskey Row and dates all the way back to 1877. Like the rest of the saloons along the street, it also burned down during the infamous fire of 1900 before bouncing back, rebuilding, and reopening for business just under a year later.

Murphy’s historic landmark building was a Mercantile & General Store in the 1890s. The mahogany bar is a century old, polished lovingly by bartenders then and now. It’s a great place for Sunday champagne brunches and special occasions, as well as happy hour, lunch or dinner. Their Carrot cake is amazing!

At COLT we cook our foods carefully, in giant steel smokers with genuine hardwoods, ensuring each item is permeated with rich smoked flavors that typify the American West. Amazing brisket sandwiches. Ask for 1/2 and 1/2!!! That’s lean and fatty ( full flavored) meat.

Hiking, kayaking & Fishing

The Watson Lake Reservoir has created a unique scene where granite boulders jut up out of the water. it is a city park and there is a $3 dollar entrance fee to get into the parking area. I recommend pulling through and driving all the way to the back and parking in the back lot. There is a fairly strenuous hike through the boulders down to the water if you choose to go that way

Bars and restaurants
Matt’s Longhorn Saloon has been a part of Prescott’s famous "Whiskey Row" since the early 1960’s and is still going strong today as one of Prescott’s last true Honky Tonks. Occupying the historic D. Levy Building, built in 1901 as a mercantile, then becoming a saloon just at the end of prohibition in 1934, Matt’s Saloon has become an internationally recognized and highly acclaimed destination place for country music. Great country western music and dancing. Dancing lessons on Thursdays. Kick up your heels or belly up yo the bar.
