Incredible brunch spot specializing in Swedish menu offerings adapted for Portland’s unique style of cuisine. Must try the Lefse. They have 3 locations. I like every one BUT Mississippi Ave. Try Broder Soder or the Cafe. Skip Broder Nord, unless you happen to be on Mississippi Ave.

Praline Waffles with candied pecans and dollops of whipped cream and strawberries). You can get by with about $20/person including coffee and maybe 1 drink order. More late night punk rock pizza by the slice - holds up ok after all these years. They are unabashedly counter-culture here. Definitely a local portland vibe if you want to experience the regional color. At least 2 Sizzle Pie locations.

Yummy French bakery and restaurant. Reasonably priced. I’d recommend the Alberta St location over certain others. The Lake Oswego location is great as well. The only one that isn’t great is Powell st.

My preferred taqueria in portland. Cheap and really good - and this is coming from someone who grew up in California. They have 3 locations: north west portland (killingsworth), north east portland (Alberta st), and south East (division st).

It’s a must if you’ve come with your bucket list handy. Of course, we also have a voodoo doughnut at the Vancouver mall off the freeway exit for the Airbnb, but this is their flagship store.

Don’t go for dinner though, the food is so-so at best, but the bar is interesting. The Meads are the real draw, because who’s ever been to a Meadery?! FYI, many of the meads are quite sweet. It’s downstairs and closes early.
