Fort Monroe is my absolute favorite place in the area. The Casement Museum is free and it is amazing to walk around the historic town (the beach isn't bad, either :D)!

Jamestown is my favorite of the Historic Triangle sites (Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown). You can also go to the archaeological dig site which is a nice walk along the water and very fascinating!
