This Restaurant on Christchurch Quay is brilliant for relaxed breakfasts, lunches and evening meals.
It gets very busy in and out of season so always best to book ahead if you can.
It overlooks the river and even has a crazy golf course on site.
Lovely food and very friendly staff

The outdoor area is lovely to sit in on warm summer evenings.

Marine DrivePebble Beach is just outside Highcliffe approx 10 minutes drive.

Sightseeing
Weymouth is a lovely ol fashioned seaside town.
It's not that close to but can be driven to in around 90 minutes(depending on traffic).
You can also travel there by train from Christchurch station.
Park the car for £2 a day and let the train take the strain.

There are many beautiful villages and open spaces in and around the New Forest in easy reach of Wingfield Cottage.
Beaulieu is good family day out as well as Lymington.
The smaller villages of Burley & Brockenhurst are also very close as well as Lyndhurst but this does seem to be very busy all year round

New Forest District
There are many beautiful villages and open spaces in and around the New Forest in easy reach of Wingfield Cottage.
Beaulieu is good family day out as well as Lymington.
The smaller villages of Burley & Brockenhurst are also very close as well as Lyndhurst but this does seem to be very busy all year round
Paultons Park is probably best for children 10 and under.
It can be reached by road in approx 30 mins

It's very sandy and has a long promenade and lots of free parking on the long road that runs the length of the beach. There are a few restaurants along the beach and a few takeaway huts.
There are deck chairs for hire and beach huts but these are normally always booked up months in advance.
This is my favourite beach in the area

The beach at Southbourne is closer and quieter than Bournemouth beaches.
It's very sandy and has a long promenade and lots of free parking on the long road that runs the length of the beach. There are a few restaurants along the beach and a few takeaway huts.
There are deck chairs for hire and beach huts but these are normally always booked up months in advance.

Mudeford is a small village approx 5 minutes drive or 20 minute walk from Wingfield Cottage.
The beach is mainly pebbles but there is a small sandier area.
Mudeford is an ideal place to go crabbing.
There is a small ferry that you can catch which takes you over to Mudeford Spit where there is a sandy beach and a trail that takes you upIto Hengistbury Head conservation area. In the summer there is a land train that takes you up from the beach to Hengistbury head which is great for kite flying
