A herd of buffalo brought here decades ago to roam acres of fenced parkland. There is no admission but viewing the bison is by chance but spectacular to see if they are 'out'!

The Cooper family sell gas, propane, grocery items, including a small selection of fresh fish and meat, and they also sell Penny's seasonal produce - Asparagus, strawberries, corn, potatoes. Ask for Glenda and tell her Tammy sent you ;-)

We love this restaurant! It's located in Georgetown - once a ship building centre - on the waterfront. Chef Terry has transformed this seasonal place into a must do destination for Islanders.

So I have a special tid bit of info for guests who love strolling beaches. Wood Islands is one of a very few beaches that you can collect Island sand dollars. You need to go at a super moon low tide (I can help you with that) to collect these rare sea urchins. The most unusual ones are purple.
If you do collect them, make sure you dry them out really well before storing them because they will stink really badly!
