This is not just a breakfast, brunch, lunch spot, it's a living museum of high Italian colonial style with serious oil paintings and antiques, plus an art gallery. It's absolutely splendid and they sometimes have piano recitals. You'll be amazed!

Eat and drink cocktails at this restaurant that is so close to the ocean that the waves break against the windows (and in winter sometimes come crashing in!). Food is the best in the south and views are exceptional. It's a fitting way to celebrate life in the deep south!

If you aren't a surfer you can be with lessons from many surf schools here, but if you don't want to squeeze into a wetsuit then just watch; watch the surfers, stand-up paddle boarders, beachwalker and all the characters along the beachfront. And there are too many cafes and restaurants and coffee shops to mention.

Cape Point is part of the greater Table Mountain National Park but try and choose a less windy day to go to the end of the earth! But go you must....walk or take the funicular to the old lighthouse and visit some of the beaches and do some hikes.

Kalk Bay Main Road is fabulous for strolling, shopping, stopping and admiring all the quirky shops from antique/junk shops to owner-designer boutiques. Plus coffee shops, restaurants, the beautiful harbour (see the boats come in and offload their catch...buy your fish supper straight off the boats).

Simon's Town is charming with a yacht harbour and a street full of interesting shops. What most people don't know is that visitors can go and eat at the False Bay Yacht Club cafe with a great view over the harbour...just head for the boats.
