Avoid the crowds with this moderate hike up the backside of Monument Mountain, and be rewarded with an awesome view at the top! Plus yummy treats nearby at Taft Farms and Berkshire Mountain Bakery! Parking on Route 183 on the right as you enter Housatonic, just past the entrance to an old orchard (trail signs are visible from the road).

Easy hiking trails, beautiful scenery, a sweet picnic grove and Benedict Pond for swimming - what more could you want! Great for mountain biking and cross-country skiing/snowshoeing as well.
