No. And here’s why: The falafel is fried crisp, the hummus is pureed smooth, and the shawarma is sliced thin. It’s all dropped off at your table with almost alarming speed, which makes it maybe not the best place for a romantic, lingering dinner. But this is U. of C. territory—who has time for romance when there’s Heidegger to read?

Love deli food with lots of meat like I do? Then you have to checkout Bergstein's NY Deli. The address shows the suburban location but there is now one in Hyde Park which would not come up in Google. The address is 1164 E. 55th St.

A staple in the neighborhood since the 70's. Great place for breakfast and serves lunch/dinner too. Just love the chicken and waffles and must have the fried green tomatoes!
