This is a cozy little village located where the mainland meets the archipelago. Beautiful nature and nice walkways.
Swim on the beach at the historic cold bath house or have a really good lunch at one of the restaurants on the pier.
If you want to go out in the archipelago to an island, boats go 3-4 times from here.

Sandhamn is a real historical gem in the Stockholm archipelago. Perfect for day trips or overnight stays at the historic hotel. Great food in several places around the harbor. Super nice beaches and cliffs to swim from. Shops, beautiful nature and picturesque little houses
From the house:
Take the train Salsjöbanan to "Henriksdal"
Change to bus 433 on the other side of the main road, to "Stavsnäs Vinterhamn"
Take the boat directly to Sandhamn harbor.

Nackareservatet is a giant nature reserve right where we live. Here you can walk in the woods all day without meeting any person. Super nice hiking and running trails. Several lakes to swim in and a good trip is to go to "Hellasgården" for lunch and swimming by the lake. About 1-1.5h walk.

Nackareservatet is a giant nature reserve right where we live. Here you can walk in the woods all day without meeting any person. Super nice hiking and running trails. Several lakes to swim in and a good trip is to go to "Hellasgården" for lunch and swimming by the lake. About 1-1.5h walk.

Our local restaurant just 20m from the house. Great food but a bit over priced. Nice atmosphere and placed in the old studio and garden of the Swedish famous artist Olle Nyman's home.

Fantastic food and pretty close to our place. Absolutely doable go visit by bike, otherwise car.

Enormous grocery store with everything you need. 15min with bike. This is were we shop our food weekly.

In Sweden, we have an alcohol monopoly, which means that you can only buy wine and beer etc. at "Stystembolaget".
However, these stores have an extremely large selection of drinks and really knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Closest "Systembolag" is located in the Nacka Forum Mall 15 by bike from our place.

Train "Saltsjöbanan"
The train is the best way going into the city. Station Saltsjö-Duvnäs 10 min walk from our house.
Please note that the last 5min railway into the city is under construction and you need to jump off the train (Station Henriksdal) and jump on the replacement buses. No new ticket is needed.
The cheapest alternative is to buy day, week or month ticket If you're planning to travel everyday with train, sub, busses etc. Buy it on "Pressbyrån" or "7eleven" close to the sub stations in town.

Bus "Ektorps Centrum"
The best station for busses is located in "Ektorps Centrum" 23 min walk from our house. There you'll find more than 10 bus lines going into the city and out to the countryside.

Taxi
Bolt/Uber from city to our place costs around 5-7$ daytime and around the double in rush hour and evenings. Bolt is the cheapest company. Please avoid private unbranded taxis when going home from town to avoid a ridiculously expensive trips.
Our top 3 of taxi companies:
1.Bolt (Use bolt app. Like Uber but a bit cheaper).
2.Uber
3.Taxis Stockholm. Super serious taxameter taxis but almost double the price from Bolt.

Two adult bikes is included in the rent. Perfect for going to the grocery store or just exploring the Saltsjö-Duvnäs area.

Boats to the archipelago islands
The main boat line leaves from Saltsjöbaden and stops at the most popular islands out in the archipelago. Use the app "res I sthlm" to plan the trip. Buy tickets on the boat.
