The summit trail is 1.2 miles each way. It's a moderately difficult hike, but you'll get great views of the city even if you don't reach the summit.
The Echo Canyon trail is my favorite hike, but it is strenuous and EXTREMELY crowded. I haven't been in a while because parking is a nightmare. Try the Cholla trail instead.
