Amazing Indian food in beautiful, historic downtown Rapid City. My personal favorite dish is the saag with either chicken or lamb. Don't forget the Naan!

Thought NYC has the best begals? Think again! Many, many flavors of begals and fresh cream cheese toppings ... amazing. My husband's favorite is the sesame begal with peanut butter spread and my favorite is the everything begal with spinach parmasan cream cheese. They also serve our local coffee, Dark Canyon Coffee. This is our favorite local Mexican restaurant. Mainly because we LOVE 2 dishes in particular: fajita chicken quesadilla and chicken fajita burrito. Family owned and super friendly. Its popular though, so go early and be patient.

Very good BBQ place. Its a little farther away then most of my other food places, but worth the drive. This place will sell out, so best to check their hours and call ahead to make sure they still have what you want.

Good food and drinks on one of the best outdoor patios in town. This place is just a fun place to hang out. Patio has fun games to play! Weather not good? Not to worry, they have plenty of indoor seating, too.

Great local pizza place with many beers, ciders and wines on tap. Just a fun place to be! There is seating downstairs, so if you walk in and don't see a table, (very common) check downstairs.

The most popular ice cream shop in Rapid City. Its just east of downtown. Inside and outside seating. Its even open pretty late in the summer. There is usually a long line, but we will just chat with people in line and have fun while waiting.

Looking for a good Hibachi place? Look no further! Fuji's is sooo yummy. Their sushi is also very popular, Dan loves it. It gets busy, but you can visit some shops or get a glass of wine while youwait.

Hiking/mountain biking
Excellent in-town hiking and mountain biking 1 mile from the house with amazing views of the hills and downtown. Over 20 miles of great trails. I spend many hours on these trails! Directions from the house to trailhead: Go south (left if facing house) on Joy Ave 2 blocks to the end, make a left and continue to 4 way stop at Allen and North Streets. Make a right onto North Street. Continue on North St for about 3/4 of a mile. Just past the apartment buildings on the right is a parking lot for the trail head. Note that the bike path also connects here.

Like history or just a geek? Walk through a field filled with planes, new and old, and tour the museum. As a bonus, sign up for the missile silo tour. Been many times and always discover something new.

A fun place to visit! I personally love the bird show, but the snakes are pretty cool. There is also a famous alligator. This is a place to go when the weather is nice as most of it is outside.

Love bears or even just animal viewing in general? This place is wonderful! Its a drive through zoo that specializes in bears. Even the views are beautiful.

Downtown Rapid City's Public Square has events occurring almost every weekend starting in May. Check out their Facebook page for events during your stay. Most of them are free to attend and combine food, fun and entertainment for all ages.

Awesome Historic Theater in Downtown. About 1 mile from the house so walkable. There is a useful pedestrian crosswalk at 6th street to get across Omaha Street. Go to the pond at the Civic center then head South over the creek and past the playgrounds to the crosswalk.

Fresh produce? Yes please! There are also often vendors with fresh milk, eggs, and grain fed meats not to mention awesome baked goods homemade jams. This is where I buy rhubarb for my pies.

Very nice laundromat and dry cleaners. They also offer wash and fold services if you just want to drop it off and go enjoy your day. Staff is great, helpful and friendly. Inside is clean and well organized. I personally use this place and am always happy with their service. Bonus - its less than 1 mile from the house!
