This is a very unique 3 mile hike to the top of a cinder cone volcano. It is located in the town of Amboy and is a one hour drive from the house. If you do venture out here you’ll drive right past the Palms Restaurant if you might want to stop in.

This is probably swankiest place in hi-desert. Poolside and indoor dining. They have great steaks, and some seafood. They also have a full bar. Not very veggie friendly IMO, but you will find something. They serve special meals on big holidays. Definitely NOT good for groups.

The food here is great, don't be fooled by the odd pairing in the name. They do Indian flavors on a naan flatbread "pizza". Slow service sometimes but worth the wait.

Amazing shows, live music with some surprisingly big names. The drinks at the bar are decent and parking is free and in a big dirt lot. It's very popular, so buy tickets in advance. Good for big groups.
