It is a huge and over a 100 year old zoo. Don't miss the seal show "Fóka-móka" at 11am or in the afternoon and walk along bats in the Australia house . Check online.

Visit Rudas Bath a Turkish bath from 1600s, go from colder water to hotter tubs, later swim in the pool and finally go to the rooftop bubble bath to watch out on th Budapest bridges and fantastic view on Pest! There are no Turkish baths West from Budapest, because the Turks stopped in Buda and could not take Vienna... Tuesday is women only, Saturday, Sunday is mixed, all other days are men only...

Find H&M Home on Váci utca 3 corner Vörösmarty tér. It is in a former bank building, on the first floor there is a cashiers room with the original windows and a beautiful clock, ride up the moving stairs afterwards and walk down in the old staircase with the colored windows! Fantastic building! Shop as well if you want.

Fantastic building! Shop as well if you want.
Have a coffe and buy a ticket for a movie in one of the oldest but certainly the most beautiful cinema in Budapest. Enjoy watching the ceiling befor start.

Taxis in Budapest
All taxis are colored yellow. Uber is not available in Hungary. To order a taxi use the app Bolt. Do NOT get into a taxi by an "independent contractor"! Use one registered with a company.

Get yourself a a multi-day ticket and use public transport! Busses, subways and trams can take you everywhere in Budapest. You can pay by cash or card at the ticket machines, which you can find at most metro stations and some tram/bus stations as well. Google maps shows all connections, timetables, bus stops, arrivals, directions.

Tram 2 rides you along the Danube, with wonderful view on the castle, arriving at Parliament to the North. If you ride South, you can get off at the Central Market "Vámház".

Tram 47 or 49 takes you to the Central Market but if you ride across Freedom/Szabadság bridge, you will ride on Buda's favorite main street Bartók Béla street with small galeries, exhibition places, coffe shops. Get off at Móricz Zsigmond Körtér, "Round Sq." and have some coffe in the middle in the round building from the 1920s.

From the apartment take the red Russian built subway from Deák tér to Batthyány tér. Take the tram 17 from there to the south. Gaze at the lit Parliament building on your ride. Get off at Gellért tér and ride back to the apartment via Szabadság/ Freedom bridge with tram 47 or 49 to Deák tér.

Exchange some Forints
Credit and debit cards can be used everywhere even on the vegetable market, but under 2000Huf shops don't like it. On Király utca, just turning right coming from Asbóth utca there is a money exchange shop, have some cash!
