Mount Rushmore is a 22 minute drive from the cabin. It's definitely a "must see" when traveling to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Sylvan Lake has two beautiful hikes both are medium difficulty but definitely worth the effort. Black Elk Peak trail takes to the top of the mountain with outstanding views as far as the eye can see. Sunday Gulch trail starts behind the rock formation at the end of the lake. It has beautiful waterfalls and steep terrain with hand rails. It's a long hike but gorgeous.

Sylvan Lake

Right up the hill on the road to Mount Rushmore. Bear Country is a drive-thru wildlife park.

The badlands is just over an hour from the cabin. This is a perfect day hike. Take lots of sunscreen and water as there is many shady spots.

Sturgis is a 40 minute trip North. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally takes place every year around August 5th to the 12th. Book early because lodging fills up quickly.

The 1880 train is located in Keystone, SD. It goes from Keystone to Hill City through the forest. It is a very relaxing and beautiful trip through the Black Hills
