Perhaps our favorite spot is Pilot House right downtown on the Cape Fear River. The shrimp and grits are fantastic but we've never had a bad meal from anything on the menu and being able to sit on the deck by the water makes it even better! pilothouserest.com

The Breakfast House is right around the corner (about 2 minutes from the cottage on Carolina Beach Road). Nothing fancy, just good ole fashion biscuits, bacon, pancakes, sausage, eggs/omelets, coffee. They don't have a website but if you google Breakfast House Wilmington directions will pop up. It's on the corner by the stadium across the street from the cottage.
