One of the most photogenic neighbourhoods, known to locals as De Negen Straatjes or ‘The Nine Streets’. The area is full with vintage and designer shopping, speciality stores, cosy cafés and quirky museums. Strolling around you’ll find everything from upscaled vintage accessories through to retro furniture and a wealth of foodie hotspots.

The Begijnhof is one of Amsterdam's best known hofjes (almshouses). It consists of a group of houses built around a secluded courtyard and garden which provided modest homes for the Beguines - a group of unmarried religious women who lived together in a close community under vows of chastity.
