The Applecross Inn is a fantastic place to eat and have a drink after the long drive from Conon Bridge. The Inn is very busy during peak times so recommend making a reservation before travelling.

Day Trips
Cromarty is a lovely small town on the tip of the Black Ilse. There are 2 lovely beaches which are perfect for swimming or paddle boarding.
There is a nice hotel/bar on the water front as well as some nice shops.

Applecross is a must visit place during a visit to the Highlands. It is a 90 minute drive from the house but offers a spectacular drive over the Bealach na ba (highest road in the UK). The drive is well worth the trip alone, but the viewing places on the top offers incredible views over the Ilse of Skye.
When you get to Applecross, the Applecross Inn is available for food (please book before travelling) and the Walled Garden is perfect for afternoon tea and cake. Please check opening times and days before making the journey as they can both be closed during the quieter periods.

Ness Islands are a nice walk in the centre of Inverness. A series of bridges cross the river and is particularly nice at night where there are lights along the route. During the day there is a nice small coffee shop on the bank of the river close to the theatre.

Glen Affric is a lovely walk for those wanting a longer hike around the Loch. The path can be difficult in places so not suitable for those with mobility issues. The river can sometimes make it difficult to walk all the way round during periods of heavy rain.
