Parks & Nature
There's a little park in Blakeney that is great for picnics and a nice little 20 minute hike across the "fairy bridges" that cross the water at several points. The rapids die down in summer, but in Spring are intense, so if you have children keep them close in spring or winter as there are no guard rails near the shore. But very scenic and well worth a short 10 minute drive or 25-minute bike ride.

Almonte Culture
Named one of the best indie book stores in Canada. The Governor General and his wife have stopped in for signings. Great culture hub for Almonte. Nice selection of kids books and games too. Wonderful for Christmas and other gift shopping for readers.

You can also find little theatre productions and self-produced indie bands of all genres. There is an info board right outside the Old Town Hall. In summer, out front to the right of the building there are also bicycles you can get for free just for asking. There is also a tourist info booth there staffed by helpful students in the summer.
