Also known as Jardines de la Rosaleda or Parque del Oeste. At a walking distance from Plaza España, 5 minutes walk from Templo de Debod. The park is a wonderful place to stroll and Paseo de Pintor Rosales is a good option to relax . It is an elegant and peaceful avenue, perfect location to stop to eat or have a drink. The gardens are pretty especially in spring, when the rose garden is in full bloom.

It was a huge project to renovate the city’s former industrial riverside, completed in 2011, and built along the river. Great place a weekend stroll or to check out some important cultural highlights such as Matadero Madrid. Within walking distance of the centre, the park gets you out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre. You can easily go from home towards Piramides square and then head to the river. Walk to the left towards Casa de Campo, or to the right towards Matadero Madrid.

Beautiful restaurant and bar inside the hotel. It is usually alive with chatter and drinking well into the night and by day offers a place to read and enjoy a drink or coffee. The hotel was once a former palace and has now been re-imagined into contemporary eclectic coolness; expect a surprise around every corner in this hotel with each public room modelled differently to the next Located on Calle del Barquillo, one of the main streets through Chueca, in the heart of the capital.

One of the oldest cafés in Madrid founded in 1887. Located at the Glorieta de Bilbao. It’s a popular spot for wine and tapas. It has a history among the literary crowd, especially during the Post-Civil War Period. There is still a special corner in the café called El Rincón de don Antonio (Antonio’s corner) which is in homage to the Spanish writer Antonio Machado. The space has been recently revamped.

Events and art

International centre of culture and artistic creation. Must visit. After sitting derelict for decades on the edge of town, the city’s slaughterhouses, with their stunning early-20th-century neo-Moorish architecture, have been reborn as Madrid’s most cutting-edge mixed-use arts complex for exhibitions, design, theater, film, and festivals. This is a fantastic place to spend the day: surrounding the pavilions are terrace cafes, and Madrid Río park. You can easily walk from home, along the river. https://www.mataderomadrid.org/en
