The University District Farmers Market takes place every Saturday and is a wonderful option for buying fresh local organic produce, meats, bakery goods and other items. There are also many vendors who sell delicious prepared foods. Sometimes there are musicians. It is a great way to shop for food.

Zoka has good coffee and tea and it is the kind of place you can take your laptop and use the wifi for hours and no one will mind. Lots of students study there. I sometimes spend hours working there. There is another Zoka Coffee in Tangletown near Green Lake.

There are many options for pizza in the area but my favorite is Flying Squirrel. They have lots of great combos and toppings and also offer gluten free crust. Their desserts are delicious too.

Snappy Dragon is a neighborhood favorite for good Chinese food. They have been around for a long time and garnered quite a reputation for their hand made gyoza (dumplings) and fresh noodles.

Chiang's does not look like much from the outside but they make very good Chinese food. Delicious noodles and many other good dishes. They have large round tables with lazy susans for serving family style and are always filled with Chinese customers who know the real deal. You don't go there for the ambience; you go there for really good Chinese food.

Tilth is an excellent upscale restaurant in a small house in Wallingford. The food is fresh and local and artfully prepared. Good place for a nice date.

Green Lake is not far from the apartment and is a popular spot for walking, swimming, paddle boarding, etc. There is a boat house where you can rent paddle boats and paddle boards. There are several swimming docks with diving boards. There is also an indoor pool (called Evans Pool) there.
