Not actually in the village of Dinton, the Hermit is actually about a 20 minute walk or five minute drive in the village of Ford.
A lovely patio garden for summer alfresco dining or a charming traditional pub/ restaurant with a menu that includes locally sourced ingredients. Booking is a must at weekends.

Well worth including on a trip to or from Oxford.

A great place to wile a away a few hours at any time of year, but during spring and autumn the Murmurations of the migrating birds is truly a sight to behold. Located near the lovely village of Beckley a bonus extra is the super Abingdon Arms pub. A great place for Sunday lunch after a long walk around the bird reserve.
NB- you can only bring dogs to certain parts of the reserve, so if you want the full “ornithology”experience maybe not one for you, but we have had a super couple of walks around the outskirts of the reserve with ours, so not impossible.

If organic, free range and home grown is important to you then this wonderful farm is definitely worth a trip .George and Cate Bennet are passionate about all things foodie and run the local Ten Mile menu veg boxes ,as well as a farm shop, farm tours and if you are lucky to be in the area for, supper nights in their beautiful Tythe barn. I cannot recommend highly enough and could be built into a trip to or from Oxford or even Bicester- approx 4 miles from Thame just off the A418 to Oxford.

A very easy trip towards the Cotswolds not far from Bicester is Rousham House and gardens. Definitely worth a visit for all garden lovers. It is unspoit and said to be almost as it was in the 18th century when it was designed by William Kent.

Set on the edge of the pretty town of Woodstock, which is worth a visit itself, Blenheim hosts a wonderful Christmas market and the website is full of information on the Palace, gardens and events.
