Harrison’s Landing is still lovingly referred to by some locals as Tavern on the Bay, which was our original restaurant name when we opened in 2010. It’s a Corpus Christi gem that offers a unique dining experience. Located in the heart of the Corpus Christi marina, we are within walking distance from the downtown hotels, and is the only place in town that has a floating gift shop, and floating bar and dining areas. Our venue is fido-friendly on the back patio. However, all fido-friendly venues are subject to city ordinance regulations which include that our furry friends are kept on a leash while on the property and wear current city license and rabies vaccination tags. Water bowls are provided upon request. Guests are responsible for their pet’s behavior. Reservations and call-ahead seating are not offered. Thank you for your understanding.

Corpus Christi is a Texas city on the Gulf of Mexico. It’s tucked into a bay and its beaches are sheltered by Padre and Mustang islands. The Padre Island National Seashore is home to migratory birds and endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles. The harborfront Texas State Aquarium has touch pools, an aquatic nursery and a shark exhibit. Nearby, a WWII aircraft carrier, USS Lexington, now houses a naval aviation museum.

The charming fishing village of Rockport has been a favorite coastal hideaway for wealthy Texans since the 1800s. It was named for the rock ledge underlying its shore and was founded just after the Civil War as a cattle slaughtering, packing and shipping port. During the 1880s, boat building and fishing began to develop as important industries in Rockport. Tourism and the resort trade also blossomed, particularly after the railroad came into town in 1886. The shrimping industry developed between 1925 and 1930 and became a major boon for the city in the 1940s. The population of Rockport grew steadily over the years. Vacationers swim, fish, watch birds, relax, visit the wildlife refuges, and enjoy many other area attractions.

USS Lexington is a valuable national treasure having played a significant role in the nation’s defense for nearly 50 years. Her World War II record is second to none and as a place where Americans died in defense of freedom, she is a memorial worth preserving. She continues to serve today as a museum and educational facility. During the 1980’s the U.S. Navy came to realize that keeping in service its last remaining World War II Essex Class aircraft carrier was becoming increasingly expensive and that the USS Lexington would have to be replaced by a more modern ship. In August 1990, the Secretary of the Navy announced that the USS Forrestal would replace the USS Lexington as the Navy’s training carrier.

This winery on the North St Rockport is not your average winery, for this one has something extra interesting about itself. This is a dog friendly brewery and people can bring their pets along on a date, they have super reasonable wine tastings and also a small selection of craft beers so there is something for everyone.
