it's right next door to the apartment open from 8.30am mid week and serving lovely coffee and baked goods. super for lunch too. while you're there why not visit the National Print Museum next door. Great for Salted caramel cheese cake topped with toffee popcorn.

The Schoolhouse Hotel Bar is situated along the Grand Canal and adjacent to Mount Street Bridge (the site of the Battle of Mount street Bridge during the early years of the revolution if 1916. The Bar is spacious with lofty ceilings and a mezzanine. It has comfortable seating throughout, two fireplaces and the food is good. The Bloody Marys are among the best that Dublin has to offer. Great spot for brunch or lunch.

The Schoolhouse Hotel Bar is situated along the Grand Canal and adjacent to Mount Street Bridge (the site of the Battle of Mount street Bridge during the early years of the revolution if 1916. The Bar is spacious with lofty ceilings and a mezzanine. It has comfortable seating throughout, two fireplaces and the food is good. The Bloody Marys are among the best that Dublin has to offer. Great spot for brunch or lunch.

It has a south-facing courtyard beer garden that catches the sun from early afternoon. Their menu is award-winning and they do a good wood-fired pizza. Slattery’s Pub in Beggars Bush is fresh, bright, colourful with several different dedicated areas – a craft beer bar, a roof terrace and even a ‘love loft’. I’d argue that a pint of Guinness here is among the best in Dublin.

Patrick Kavanagh – Ireland’s most widely known poet by Irish people frequented this pub which first opened as a grocer, wine and spirit merchant in 1845. Other writers also descended as regulars to Searsons included Brendan Behan and Flann O’Brien. Upper Baggot Street was the literary quarter of the 1960’s and is now a popular spot among rugby fans attending the Aviva Stadium matches on the nearby Lansdowne road.They have a good food menu and a list of over 90 whiskies. If you want to know what it was like to visit the pub as a woman in 1845 then ring ahead and book the snug – tables partitioned in wood and stained glass to hide in!
