Parks & Nature

Arthur's Seat is the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh, which form most of Holyrood Park, described by Robert Louis Stevenson as "a hill for magnitude, a mountain in virtue of its bold design". It sits 251m above sea level giving excellent view of the city; it is also the site of a large and well preserved fort. This is one of four hill forts dating from around 2000 years ago. With its diverse range of flora and geology it is also site of Special Scientific Interest. Perfect to walk around or up on a sunny day.

Sightseeing

Standing on its great rock, Edinburgh castle dominates Scotland's capital. Great events have taken place within its wall and it has witnessed many sieges. In 1996, the Stone of Destiny, on which kings were enthroned for centuries, was returned to Scotland and is displayed in the Crown Room along side the Crown jewels. Great day out for the whole family - one of Edinburghs biggest tourist attractions.
