Elden Lookout trail is a 6.3 mile (2300 foot elevation gain) heavily trafficked out and back trail located on the east end of flagstaff near Safeway. It features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. Best times to hike is between April through November.

The ruin Island is accessed by stairs from behind the ranger station. Rated as easy to moderate and is recommended year round.
