Wondering what you’d do in Penticton over the winter, wonder no more! Whether you’re looking to hit the mountains skiing and snowboarding
Apex is a family friendly mountain just 35km from our condo! This is a hidden gem not many know about in the Okanagan. The mountain is open from December to March and offers a great variety of terrain for all skill levels. It features almost 80 marked runs and 40+ unmarked.
Because Apex is easy accessed from nearby cities, they host a variety of events, races and holiday specials throughout the season. Guests enjoy after-hours events such as club nights with DJ’s spinning beats to big belly laughs at Comedy Night events, both hosted at the Gunbarrel Saloon. The Dummy Downhill is a classic cap for the end of an epic season at Apex. Vertical & Vintages and Brewski tasting events mix VQA wines, excellent craft beer and spirits tastings and food mixed with socializing and networking at its best.
While family fun peaks at Christmas with the arrival of Santa and his gifts for the good little boys and girls, Apex Resort hosts several family-friendly events throughout the season.

28km from our condo or a 25min drive gets you to Vaseux Lake! Vaseux Lake is accessible year round, with great winter opportunities on the lake. It’s perfect for skating and winter hiking. But one of the biggest draws in the winter is ice fishing – drop a line and see who will get the catch of the day!

The White Lake Grasslands Protected Area is known for its conservation efforts for both fauna and flora. But the reason the locals go in the winter doesn’t have much to do with wildlife. The southernmost end of park is known to be a great place for tobogganing. Grab a sled and head to the hills!
